Patient Reviews
Aug 18, 2021
I had a really great first appointment with Mindy. I was a little worried after reading the other review, but my first appointment was rather hands-on. She started by asking me about why I came (pain with sex) and we also talked about my urinary experience (I have an anxious bladder). She described some of the things I may be experiencing using a model and gave some personal examples that I found very relatable. She then performed an exam, using her fingers on my pelvis and in my vagina to see how tense I was. We did a couple tests, squeezing and relaxing to try to get a better understanding of my problem. She made suggestions on how I might avoid pain during sex and we practiced some of the tips. She then demonstrated how I could stretch my pelvic floor. I left with some homework to do the stretches, do a couple days of bladder and food journaling, and to regularly do deep breathing exercises (the last being the most important part for me).
