Emily is a truly caring individual that casts no judgement and makes you feel safe & welcomed, even when you're feeling like you're at your absolute worst. She's very authentic with her words and has a friendly and supportive personality. A session never feels burdened by a heavy "patient vs mental health professional dynamic". Talking to her feels very natural, she provides great feedback, and is an open minded problem solver. If something isn't working, she'll find a different path to get you to your solution. She never gives up on you. The simplest way I can explain regular therapy vs therapy with her is: walking into a loud party where you don't know anyone, you feel nervous/awkward, you feel like you don't fit in, you're alone, everyone's staring wondering why you're here and you start looking for the first dark corner to hide in until it's all over(most therapy experiences) Suddenly, you see your friend waving at you and calling you over. She introduces you to some people who she knows you'll vibe with, she hangs out with you and never dips out or leaves you alone in a room of unfamiliar faces. By the time the party ends, you actually feel good about the experience rather than feeling like you were counting the seconds until you could leave (sessions with Emily). I'd recommend her to anyone :)
