How likely are you to recommend Dr. Keating?
I was a patient of Dr. Keating's as a college student at the University of Chicago (2007-2010). I developed symptoms of RA right before high school graduation, and having an autoimmune disease in college had not been on my radar. After a terrible experience with the first rheumatologist I met, I later met Dr. Keating, and everything changed. He treated me like a person (and a young person at that). Not only did he find a treatment that actually made me feel better, but he gave me hope of living a normal life. I never dreaded our appointments. He was undeniably pleasant, had a sense of humor, and seemed to genuinely care about whatever I had going on in my life. There were times when I was babysitting my 4-6-year-old nephew, and he went to my appointments with me- Dr. Keating never minded and was delighted to see him, too. I've since found another rheumatologist I am happy with, but I still think of Dr. Keating and selfishly wish he had stayed in Chicago. He's the best.
