I've gone to Dr. Borders since 2004. He listens well and really challenges me to grow without pushing too far. He pays attention to both the observable and what he hears. He's easy to talk to, seems interested, and I always leave feeling encouraged and motivated. Anytime I've mentioned him to a counselor, they tell me he's one of the best psychiatrists in our state and takes such a well-rounded approach. I'd have to agree! I've changed counselors over the years, but I've never felt I could receive better care from anyone but him as far a brief, medicinal appointments go. Keep in mind, he's NOT a counselor, he IS a psychiatrist, so if it's counseling without drugs you want, he's not your guy. He works with counselors, not as them. He counsels some in the 15 min. appointment time, but it's more of a check-up to make sure he's treating me the best way possible in his approach and with medication. You still have to be willing to do your part for yourself no matter where you go.
