If I could give Dr Castillo more than 5 stars, I would. I’ve only been seeing him for a couple years, but I knew at my first visit he would be a great fit for me. And I must say I was apprehensive about seeing a new rheumatologist after 25 years with my last one. He’s very caring, concerned, compassionate and VERY knowledgeable about RA and associated diseases. He takes all the time necessary to evaluate, and explain in layman’s terms what’s going on, and what’s needed to best help. He’s very open minded to listen to what you have to say and has a way of making it seem that you’re his only patient and I’ve never ever been made to feel that he was rushing. Also, everyone in the office is really courteous and pleasant as well. I drive 3 hours each way to see him….that’s how awesome he is.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
