Dr. Pontell is truly an amazing doctor who is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions. He explained everything in such detail. He genuinely cares about his patients. The empathy and comfort that he give is very hard to come by. My 15 year old son just had surgery with him in August of 2024. From my sons first appointment with Dr. Pontell he knew he was the one he wanted to go through this journey with. My son said “He really cares and asks me how I feel or what I wanted.” No doctor has ever done that before. My son was born with Congenital absence of depressor anguli oris muscle. He has dealt with a lot in the 15 years he has had this. He has had trouble eating and been made fun of, all that came to an end when we met Dr. Pontell. He came right out and said, I have never done this surgery before, but I will do it if that’s what you want. He went into great detail about how he has done this type of procedure before just not the exact muscle. My son was
