How likely are you to recommend Dr. Phelps?
I lived for 5 years with herniated discs that caused sciatic pain and was on narcotics. Dr. Phelps completed a 3-level fusion (L3-S1?) "360" in a nearly 5 hour surgery. Two months later I was back at work and completely off all the meds. That was nearly 2 years ago. I come from a medical family and benefited from having relatives who have 30+ years of close familiarity with the DFW surgical community. They said Dr. Phelps is as good of a surgeon as they come and the only one who they'd choose for this type of procedure. Also, it was important to me to have a doctor who's entire practice is dedicated to only the spine. Not to knock knee replacements but... Please! don't just go with whomever. If you demand quality only once in your life this is the time to do so and Dr. Phelps is as good as they come. In an field where skill can determine if the remainder of one's life is in pain or a new beginning it was a clear choice and for me has been a new beginning.
