Excellent hospitalist. Honest, decent, caring, skilled, trustworthy. As a medical researcher, I have a definite practical bend, but when I was moments away from losing my mother and knew there was no pathway to recovery - something I was aware of coming into the ICU unbeknownst to this provider; given how profoundly close she and I were, the emotional side easily won the moment. I could have easily broke down, but Dr. Rachoin's compassionate demeanor combined with his medical prudence and wonderful communications skills made the moment palatable. In medicine, I set the highest possible standards and am entirely intolerant of medical incompetence, the injection of administrative politics, imperceptiveness and care plan close-mindedness - all obscenely common at Thedacare, Appleton (AMC). But Dr. Rachoin earns my VERY rare 5 star rating for provider excellence.
