Patient Reviews

Upon entering Duke Regional Hospital, in the first48 hours, it was a mystery why I had suddenly experienced acute respiratory failure. Dr. Landa came to my room and examined several different aspects of my ailment. After leaving for a short time, he returned and we began a conversation about SILICOSIS. He had read my symptoms, along with what I had told the triage nurses, my nurses, and my other attending Doctors. Dr. Landa, upon speaking with me, and understanding that I had been a stone mason of over 30 years, we then began our talks of this lung disease. He explained to me that this is a very old disease, quite similar to mesothelioma. Except that my irritant was stone dust as opposed to asbestos, and that stone had been a primary building material for many centuries.I cannot put into words how grateful I am to Dr. Landa. Who knows how long a proper diagnosis would have been delayed if not for his expertise. Each day is more difficult, thank youDr. Landa for your excellence.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
