How likely are you to recommend Dr. Forgach?
It is an unfortunate aspect of human nature that many people are more prone to write reviews to complain about a negative interpersonal experience or an unintended lapse in customer service than they are to write a review about exceptional doctor-to-patient communication and both surgical and post-operative treatment excellence. We are writing to share our positive story of excellence in communication, treatment, and outcome. Our son had his wisdom teeth extracted by a different oral surgeon. Three days into his recovery, there were signs of infection setting in. That particular surgeon was very slow to respond and did not take the situation seriously. An abscess formed and after additional antibiotics and pain medications failed to stop the infection, that surgeon performed a second surgical procedure to drain the abscess. Within hours of the second surgery, the infection was raging worse than before. This resulted in an urgent trip to the ER and subsequent admission into the hospital. Our son's condition was dire, as he was on the verge of turning septic. It was at this time that Dr. Forgach was called in to take over an already very difficult case. He was scheduled to perform surgery to correct this potentially very dangerous situation. Having had no prior interaction with Dr. Forgach, and given the gravity of our son's circumstances, we requested a pre-surgical in-person meeting with him. Dr. Forgach agreed and came to our son's room after-hours to meet with us. He patiently explained the procedure he would be performing and answered all our questions. His bedside manner and calm demeanor were both approachable and reassuring, and his professionalism and qualifications were apparent. The surgery was a success, and within 12 hours after the surgery the improvement in our son's condition was noticeable. Dr. Forgach and his associate remained highly attentive to the case during our son's continued hospitalization and recovery. They continued to monitor and treat his pain levels, and worked closely with the infectious disease doctor who was also assigned to the case. After 6 days in the hospital our son was released with a PICC line and an ongoing course of IV antibiotics, but with no further need for pain medication. Dr. Forgach continued to monitor our son's case post-hospitalization with several follow-up office appointments, and remained thorough, professional and approachable at all times during our son's recovery. Our son is now fully recovered, with no remaining issues or concerns. He will have his final check-in appointment with Dr. Forgach tomorrow. In our view, Dr. Forgach is an excellent oral surgeon and a caring and patient-focused doctor who takes pride in his work and remains engaged throughout the post-surgery recovery to assure an excellent outcome. We highly recommend him as an oral surgeon.
