How likely are you to recommend Dr. Abdullah?
Dr. Abdullah is an amazing surgeon. He performed the Nuss procedure on our 15 year old son with remarkable results. Not only is he a great doctor, but he surrounds himself with a great team. What frightened us most as we researched this procedure was the amount of pain involved in the recovery. The pain team that took care of our child at Lurie Children’s Hospital was phenomenal. When he came out of surgery, our first thought was “here we go”. He was in excruciating pain (rated it 8-9/10). Our boy was sobbing. Within a couple of hours, the team had gotten him down to a 4-5/10 rating; then a 3-4/10 and by the next day a 2-3/10. The goal was for him to walk from his bed to his hospital room door (approximately 20 feet) the next day, but with his pain so well controlled he was able to walk 150 feet. By the third day he walked the length of a football field. His surgery was done on a Wednesday and our son was home by Saturday & walked 1 mile. I highly recommend Dr. Abdullah!
