In early 2023 I was diagnosed with cancer on my eye lid and tear duct. Surgery was not an option as reconstruction would have left me disfigured. As a 93 year old woman this was the very first serious illness I had ever had. I was very frightened that I would lose my eye. I met with one highly recommended radiologist. The office was dark, the doctors and nurses somber and it was a good 40 minutes from my home. I was heartbroken and depressed that this would be my reality for the next six weeks. After meeting with a top eye surgeon, at OCLI in Syosset, and sharing my experience I was referred to Doctor Edward Obedian, a Radiation Oncologist, at Catholic Health Cancer Institute. From the first moment I spoke to Stephen, the Administration Assistant, on the phone to make an appointment with Dr. Obedian, I felt like I was in the right place. He was upbeat, efficient, thoughtful, and so kind I was suddenly at ease. I went to see Dr. Obedian for the first time on February 14th. It was
