Patient Reviews

I had sharp pain in back and shoulders which I recognized to be a real problem and not just a pulled muscle. Went to the IHA ER in Brighton, MI and they found aortic aneurysm with dissection. Transported to main IHA in Ypsilanti and was seen by Drs. Aziz and Gupta. They determined that I'd need both a stent in the aorta and a bypass (shunt) to connect the two arteries above the aorta. Working together Dr. Aziz would do the shunt and Dr. Gupta the stent. They found I was stable and could wait a couple days in the ICU while being monitored, to enable proper scheduling. Dr. Aziz was able to install the shunt with only a small incision. Dr. Gupta did the stent with minimilly invasive techniques. After 4 weeks of recovery I was mostly back to normal and the incision done by Dr. Aziz is healing nicely. I can't even tell where Dr Gupta inserted the stent! Barely even a scar there! Both doctors took the challenge seriously, did both surgeries at one time and did an excellent job!
