The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign recently launched a South West Steering Group to make sure that the views of patients, their families and health professionals are heard at a local level.
The inaugural meeting took place at the Lyngford House Conference Centre in Taunton on 30 June. Members, who had had travelled from Plymouth, Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, would like to campaign about the provision of hydrotherapy and will be joining forces with our new Young Campaigners Network - Trailblazers - to ensure that services are improved.
Professor Alan Emery, Chief Scientific Advisor for the European Neuromuscular Centre came and spoke about his life-long commitment to finding treatments and improving services for people with muscular dystrophy.
