Lords Committee On Intergovenmental Organisations To Publish Report On Infectious Disease, UK

The House of Lords Select Committee on Intergovernmental Organisations will next week publish its report on the spread of infectious diseases and the role of intergovernmental organisations in dealing with that threat.
The Committee have been looking at how intergovernmental organisations are tackling serious infections - such as HIV, malaria and tuberculosis
- which are already prevalent in many parts of the world and at international preparedness for detecting and dealing with a potentially devastating pandemic outbreak of a new disease such as SARS or the H5N1 strain of influenza.
They have been investigating this issue since December 2007.
The report will be published at 00:01 on Monday 21 July, embargoed copies will be available from 11:00 on Friday 18 July.

- Can be collected by journalists, witnesses and UK Government
Departments by arrangement from the reception of 2 Millbank House, House of Lords, London, SW1P 3LX from 11am Friday 18 July.
- Will be available in the Parliamentary Press Gallery from 11am Friday 18 July.
