New Society Structure Focuses On The Future - Royal Pharmaceutical Society Of Great Britain
Main Category: Pharmacy / PharmacistArticle Date: 03 Jul 2008 - 0:00 PDT
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain has announced plans to restructure its internal directorates in order to help prepare the way for the new professional body and General Pharmaceutical Council.
The changes are being introduced following consultation with staff and will see the Society's functions divided into three main areas to cover professional services, publishing and professional regulation. These areas will all be able to draw upon support from a range of shared central services including finance, HR, IT, policy, research, public relations and public affairs.
Speaking about the changes, Jeremy Holmes, the Society's Chief Executive & Registrar said:
"The countdown to the establishment of the new professional body and General Pharmaceutical Council has begun and it is important that the Society adapts its ways of working in order to focus on the needs of these two new organisations. The changes that are being introduced will allow the Society to fully focus on what members are telling us they want from a new professional body and at the same time ensure that we continue to fulfil our role as a regulator."
