A new report from Care Management Matters, due for publication late June 2008, will present an overview and analysis of the future of learning disability care for adults in the UK.
With the drive towards Supported Living as an alternative to traditional residential care, the sector is experiencing a great deal of change and with it, uncertainty for existing care home operators.
The aim of the report is to explore the impact of Supported Living and examine all aspects of how the care sector needs to adapt in the future. Put together with an impressive editorial panel, the report analyses the feasibility of government plans including the current barriers to transfer from providing residential care to supported living and debates if quality care homes should not remain as a care option for individuals to consider.
Care Management Matters is also developing a guide for residential providers to assist with the transformation from care home to Supported Living which will be available free of charge to all care operators.
